 Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy that Pope Francis has proclaimed!




Make the Most of the Year of Mercy that opens December 8, 2015 on the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception
  • Read the papal bull: Misericordiae Vultus   CLICK HERE for Bull.
  •   “24 Hours for the Lord,” to be celebrated on the and preceding the Fourth Week of Lent, should be implemented in every Diocese. (Per Pope Francis Papal Bull No. 17)
  • forming parishioners as intentional disciples through small group studies/retreats
  • growing closer to Jesus through Mary through Marian Consecration
  • revitalizing the parish and developing community within the parish through small group studies/retreat
  • performing works of mercy within the parish and into the community

Summer 2015
  • 33 Days to Morning Glory Leadership Retreats- have leadership/ministry heads/parish staff consecrate to Jesus through Mary using 33 Days to Morning Glory. These who consecrate in spring/summer  can then be leaders for the parishwide consecration beginning November 5.

January-Lent 2016 (Ash Wednesday is February 10, 2016)
  • Consoling the Heart of Jesus Retreat, offered parish wide to learn more about the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Divine Mercy- Begin in January go through Lent, 10 weeks.
  • Complete Holy Week - Easter Week


Friday March 4 & Saturday March 5, 2016~Sacrament of Reconciliation “24 Hours for the Lord,” to be celebrated on the Friday and Saturday preceding the Fourth Week of Lent, should be implemented in every diocese. (Pope Francis Papal Bull no. 17)

Divine Mercy Sunday April 2, 2016
  • Parishes give away a copy of the book The Second Greatest Story Ever Told by Fr. Michael Gaitley
  • Make a Pilgrimage to the National Shrine of Divine Mercy in Stockbridge, MA or if you can't travel that far, visit your own diocese's Cathedral which is also a pilgrimage site (per Pope Francis Papal Bull no. 3)
  • Watch coverage of the annual event on EWTN
  • Offer Divine Mercy Holy Hour at 3pm at your parish


April/May/June 2016
  • Wisdom & Works of Mercy - Begin in May through Summer, 10 weeks for The ‘One Thing’ is Three and four weeks or less for You Did It To Me


July 25-August 1, 2016 World Youth Day in Krakow, Poland
  • Theme: “Blessed are the Merciful, for they will be shown mercy.”

Late Summer / Fall 2016
  • Parishes put into action the Works of Mercy decided upon from You Did It To Me
  • Parishes host a "Day of Mercy"


Solemnity of Christ the King November 20, 2016
Year of Mercy Ends. Seal the Holy Doors with a sense of gratitude and thanksgiving to the Most Holy Trinity for having granted us an extraordinary time of grace.  (Pope Francis Papal Bull no. 5)
